Film a series of photographs moving in a succession of sixteen to twenty-four frames a second. The idea of film came about in the year 1832 when the french painter Louis-Jacques-Mandé Daguerre perfected daguerreotype. William fox later that year added to the process by using negative prints to create an supply of positive prints. Live action motion picture din’t come about until 1870 with the help of Eadweard Muybridge . Mr Muybridge refined the technology from 1872 to 1877. Edison also contributed to film production with his invention of the Kinetoscope. The Kinetoscope was a success and was marketed. The Kinetoscope worked , but Mr. Edison did not come with a projector that credit is due to the Lumière brothers. The brother created the first commercial projector that worked as a cinématographe , printer, and projector. The brothers camera was light weight hand cranked making it easier and more efficient . Lumiere became the standard for Europe and japan , while Edison invention was the standard in the USA until he later was persuaded to buy the rights to Thomas Armats design which was developed better. the development of the camera led to the establishment of film as stories establishing the art of film with narration sound and picture in 1897. The sale of of the equipment gave the cinematographer a way to create as they please which was an early form of editing.
